The ADOS-2 Observational Assessment

The Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule-Second Edition (ADOS–2) is an activity-based standardized assessment that helps diagnose autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Our LPC observes the individual’s social communication skills, interactions, play behaviors, and repetitive behaviors. This assessment provides valuable insights into their strengths and challenges related to autism.

The ADI-R Caregiver Interview

The Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised (ADI–R) is a detailed standardized interview conducted with a parent or caregiver who knows the individual well. It helps gather information about their developmental history and daily behaviors. The interview has 93 questions and covers different aspects of their behavior. It typically takes about 2 to 2.5 hours to complete and is used to diagnose autism and distinguish it from other developmental disorders

Our LPC’s expertise in utilizing these assessments enables us to deliver provisional autism diagnoses. If an individual does not receive an autism diagnosis or if we determine that ABA therapy may not be the most suitable approach, we are committed to connecting them with alternative resources or services that better address their unique needs.
